Amplify Equity is a Texas-based organization with a national portfolio of work with education systems, schools, and organizations who aspire to shift their cultures, structures, and practices toward equity and justice. Some of our past and current clients include the following:

Amplify Equity, in partnership with Reimagine Consulting Group and All of Us LLC, conducted a comprehensive curriculum audit of the K-8 KIPP Wheatley literacy curriculum. We created a customized audit framework and led a stakeholder-driven, participatory audit process that centered the voices of KIPP stakeholders in the audit process. A robust report revealed findings across all domains of the framework, and a roadmap of targeted interventions and recommendations for moving forward. The team continued to work with KIPP in a separate scope to make revisions to the curriculum that were articulated through the findings.

Amplify Equity and MAEC worked together to conduct an equity assessment focused on understanding the extent to which diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded within the district’s policies, practices, and professional learning experiences for Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD), TX. We partnered and worked with the district’s Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) to develop an equity framework and engage in comprehensive data collections (secondary document review, series of stakeholder focus groups, and a staff survey) grounded in the needs of the district that seek to understand the strengths and opportunities as it relates to equity being embedded in the policies, practices, staffing, and professional learning.

Amplify Equity, in partnership with the Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium (MAEC), led a two-year project to conduct a process evaluation and equity audit of the Baltimore Summer Funding Collaborative (SFC), then an analysis of the SFC’s Community Review Process. In both of these evaluations, we led broad stakeholder engagement efforts in order to solicit input from various Baltimore City stakeholders to help inform the analysis. This work led to the creation of a new organizational logic model centered on equity, followed by a one and a half year series of workshops with the SFC Funders to work on centering equity in their processes, while working to collaboratively redefine an SFC vision, mission, and core values. The work culminated in assisting the SFC to operationalize these updated values statements.

Amplify Equity worked in partnership with Reimagine Consulting Group to conduct a robust Climate and Culture Review of Stargate Charter School in Denver, CO. This review included the development of a locally-driven analysis framework, and a human-centered, stakeholder-driven data collection process. These data collections, coupled with classroom walkthroughs, observations, and a community survey informed the development of a final report and a separate Campus Improvement Plan leveraging stakeholder recommendations and best practices around how to improve the campus climate.

For the past four years, Amplify has served as the technical assistance provider for Austin ISD’s GEAR UP grant. Ongoing capacity-building and strategic thought partnership is provided to AISD staff around college and career readiness. Various events and programs have been created and implemented, and federal/local data analysis and reporting have been facilitated. Early in the partnership, Amplify conducted a robust landscape analysis to understand strengths and opportunities to create a college-going culture within Austin ISD. Ongoing strategic support is helping AISD think about how to create a sustainable college-going culture that can transcend the district after the grant ends.

Amplify worked in partnership with MindShiftED in San Antonio, TX to extend the offerings of parent-focused advocacy workshops and trainings designed to help parents navigate the complexities of the education system. Trainings were created and facilitated (in a train-the-trainer model) around racial equity in schools, understanding the Texas school accountability system and state report cards, advocacy and organizing for parents, and engaging in media coaching for families. These courses became MindShiftEd’s Parent Academy 2.0 that launched in the fall of 2022.
